The project stems from my fascination with 19th-century scientific illustration books, and throughout its pages, I reimagine plant and cellular forms, similar to what we can find in nature but entirely invented.
Before grouping them into chapters to form the book, I spent some time just doodling around.
For the screen-printed texts and footnotes that accompany the illustrations, I designed two alphabets that make reading impossible, in the style of the Voynich manuscript, another of my great influences. This way, I strip them of their functional use, focusing attention on the purely aesthetic aspect of layout.
